Chewie 2005 - 2024

Chewie was the first cat that was only mine.  My husband died in 2004, and I lost one of my two cats (Ashes aka Smushie) early in 2005.  That left me and Skittles.

I wanted to get a purebred because at this point, I wanted longevity.  I picked out the kitty I wanted online.

I drove all the way to Maryland to get a girl ragdoll.  When I got there the breeder had two cats left.  A girl and the boy I had picked out.  I watched them for a while and the girl was very snugged up on her mom still, so I asked if the other owner to be specified which cat they wanted.  They hadn't so I came home with a Chewie.

Chewie might be wondering what he got himself into based upon the greeting he was given from Skittles.

Chewie's Childhood

Chewie, so named because he liked to chew wires, had a good childhood.  At that point I was working from home (when companies allowed that) from the time I got him for about 7 years.  We truly became a bonded pair.  We had a year or so of Christmas tree training and stopping of the wire chewing.  But then we settled in.  Skittles also warmed up to Chewie.

Chewie and the others.

Chewie was my cat, and I was his person.  While he tolerated the other cats, he pretty much thought he was human.  however, be that as it may he helped rescue Ghost, Sammi, Sable (and her 4 kits)  and Grace.    He was my ambassador but could roll with the other cats as well.

Above all - Chewie was beautiful inside and out

Chewie couldn't take a bad picture if he tried.  As known with Ragdolls he was more doglike, spoke to me constantly and towards the end wanted nothing more that to sleep in my lap.  You were loved greatly and will be missed greatly.
